Naomi's Circle

Naomi’s Circle meets once per week on Thursday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM in private homes.

The group always has a chair open in the circle for any woman who wishes to join us. The nine current members range in age from thirty to seventy-five. They are a book/support group.

The first hour of the weekly meeting is spent reading aloud and discussing chapters from the currently chosen book.
The second hour of the weekly group is dedicated to the ministry and spiritual discipline of listening to each other. Just listening. We’ve learned that when people are talking, there’s no need to do anything but to listen to what they are saying.
We consider it a healing ministry and we intentionally try to empty ourselves of the urge to interrupt, rescue or fix. We’ve discovered that loving silence has far more power to heal and to comfort than the most well intentioned words. We close each meeting in prayer.
