First
Christian Church is proud to support interfaith dialogue and activities
in our community.
We
do that in a number of ways:
We are host to the Interfaith Prayer and Reflection service which
occurs every 11th of the month from 7 to 8:30 with a prelude starting at
6:45 and fellowship immediately following the service.
The
Interfaith Prayer and Reflection Services are a unique blend of chant,
prayer, song and movement presented by members of over eight different
faith traditions. The services have been held continuously each month
since September 2001, and each month’s service has a different theme.
The services are sponsored by Interfaith Prayer and Reflection Services
(IPRS). They can be contacted at: PO Box 3451 Eugene, Oregon 97403.
In addition, First Christian Church is host to many events sponsored by
Lane Institute of Faith and Education (L.I.F.E.). L.I.F.E. offers
evening classes and seminars on a variety of topics relating to the need
to understand faith traditions more fully. L.I.F.E. is affiliated
with Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. For
