UPDATE August 3, 2020

The Covid-19 Rapid Response Team (CRRT) and Executive Board of Directors for FCC Eugene have extended the building closure through the summer, to be reopened no sooner than December 2020.

This date is not a commitment to reopening the FCC Eugene building and the CRRT will continue to follow Governor Brown’s Executive Orders as well pertinent guidelines from the State of Oregon, Lane County Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control, the Regional and General Ministries of the Disciples of Christ, and others as we plan the phased re-opening of the church.

Brothers and Sisters in the body of Christ, the church remains open, but the building remains closed.

Entry into the building continues under the helpful supervision of the CRRT and in coordination and planning with Co-Pastors April and Jerri and Office Manager Yvette.

With a Phase One opening in Lane County, the CRRT and Pastoral Staff can encourage one-to-one telephone calls, virtual group meetings, volunteering with the Interfaith Downtown Food Hub. Both the Spiritual Formation and Elders Ministry Teams are building opporutnities that soon can encourage small gatherings of 5-10 people in public spaces, with a commitment to the 4 essentials of handwashing, mask wearing, social distancing of 6’ and not going out when you are not feeling well, as long as Lane County remains open.

Worship Services will continue online through at least September 2020, live streaming on our Youtube channel at 10:30 am Sundays. Please send useful feedback on worship to Pastors Jerri Handy & April Oristano via email.

Committee meetings should continue online, and please contact Pastors April & Jerri if you need assistance in meeting online. Committees and task forces that have not met since March are encouraged to start virtual meetings again.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Thank you for the ways in which you have continued to witness to God’s abundant love for all and the ways you have served your neighbor and your God in such creative and deeply meaningful ways. Everyday we thank God for you.

Co Pastors Rev. April Oristano and Rev. Jerri Handy
